The Bohemian Carnevale is the most colorful and joyful street experience in Prague.

The carnival dates back from the seventeenth century. The masks and costumes represent the beautiful Bohemian culture. It is a street event with a lot of special local support of the restaurants and bars that have special menus.

There are some special carnival activities in the Clam-Gallas Palace and some other museums and even some schools. The Toy Museum is divided into two floors, and offers toys ranging from the time of ancient Greece to the newest and most desired toys for children today. They are brought from around the world to join the impressive permanent collection of the Museum.

The botanical gardens were founded in 1999 in fields that originally belonged to a farmer family in the region. They worked without using fertilizers or chemicals to grow their crops.

Botanicus have ornamental parties only to delight any visitor and you can buy food, beverages and medicinal plants. There are landscaped gardens with exotic plants, wild plants, fruit trees, medicinal plants – always maintaining an ecological balance.

The Botanicus complex also has restaurants offering medieval menus, with dishes such as roasted chicken with medival herbs.

This medieval village and its gardens are open to the public from 28th of April to the 30th of September. During these months, there will be parades of horse races, dances, live music, medieval markets and much more!

The Teatrotoč is an annual theatre street festival for all ages with special attention on the children. It is a whole day experience beginning with craft workshops for kids and continuing with great variety of children’s shows like pantomimes, jugglers, acrobats and stilts-walkers, clowns and puppet theatres during the whole day.

The beauty of the puppeteer art and interactive program promises to be a great family vacation in one of Europe´s most romantic cities.

The festival was born in 2002. The first event was a students´ workshop ending with a short life puppet performance in the Czech castles. Important fact is that the Teatrotoč is organized in July, when most of the theaters are closed.

At the beginning it was mainly about local artists, but as the festival got more famous, a lot of foreign artists took part as well. The number of performers of local and foreign artists grows bigger every year. In 2009 there were 70 performances by 17 companies from all over the world.

The shows deal mainly with very important children´s questions like in the show Lightening Bugs of Anička Suchánková about three small beetles who are blown away by the wind. Teatrotoč is the best adventure for the children and the all of the grown-ups, who have saved the child inside or just need to do it!

The location of this event changes every year. According to last information this year´s event should be held near the beautiful St. Nicholas Cathedral.

The Prague Zoo, was founded in 1931 and boasts 58 acres, 42 of which dedicated to animals.
Each year, more than half a million people visit this zoo, specialized in breeding endangered species, such as the Przewalski horse, antelopes, or various types of wild animals, such as waterfowl and alligators.

The Prague Zoo is home to 1180 species of 167 mammals, 1366 birds of 265 species, and 116 reptiles of 792 species. As you can note, it has a large number of animals that kids and adults will love looking at.

For example, you can observe the Aldabra giant tortoise, the Chinese alligator, the Cuba iguana, the red panda, the brown hyena, the Amur leopard, the kiang, the black and white lemur, the orangutan … Moreover the park offer a great exhibition of more than 300 species of rare plants, with some unique species!

A curiosity of this zoo is the bush dog, an animal that almost never reproduces in captivity. However here were raised tens of them and some even have been sent to their natural habitat in Ecuador.

The World Ultimate Club Championships (WUCC) in Prague is an international sport event that is part of World Flying Disc Federation (WFDF) 2010. WFDF on the other hand is member of the General Alliance of International Sports Federations (GIASF), the International World Games Assocation (GAISF) and the International Council for Sport Science and Physical Education.

It is a sport event held every four years. The WUCC has been held in Cologne (Germany), Toronto (Canada), Madison (Wisconsin, USA), Millfield (UK), Vancouver (Canada), St Andrews (Scotland, UK), Honolulu (Hawaii, USA) and Perth (Australia) since its foundation in 1989. Until 1999 it was a two-year-championship.

There are male, female and mix divisions according to the gender and U19 (19 and Under), U23 (23 and Under) and Master (Over 33) according to the age. Everybody is allowed to take part after a pre-registration. Only team compete and every team represents a certain country. As part of the promotion of this year´s event a successful attempt of Frisbee Marathon Record was made. The attempt is to try to throw a frisbee on a Marathon distance. Ten people were throwing one frisbee at the distance of 42.195 kilometers in 1 hour, 56 minutes and 19 seconds!
